People of the State of Illinois v. G. R.

Charge: Domestic Violence/Domestic Battery (2 Counts)
Ruling: NOT GUILTY

A father is wrongly accused by his ex-wife of corporal punishment. His young son was caught stealing $50.00 from his wallet, and he sat him down for a discussion that included a spanking. Though cross examination of the mother, young child, his sister, and brother, I elicited that the father was just doing his job as a father, and NOT abusing his child. The Judge found in favor of G.R., commending him for being such a good father, and telling him, “the way your attorney has presented you to this Court, I wish there were more fathers like you in this world.” NOT GUILTY both counts.
